One particular typographic character-by-character animation that I loved putting together for eneri.net is the rainfall effect. Here, words are treated individually, like raindrops falling from the upper part of the screen. Unlike the explosion effect, the rainfall animation works better on typographic elements with simple structures, say, numbers, the English alphabet or even Japanese Hiragana and Katakana characters.
